Playstation 2 emulator in action

nah, ps3 has 1 cpu @ 3.2ghz and 7 active ppus. While fairly powerful the ppus are dedicated to specific tasks, and are often used to implement features traditionally done on a gpu (ps3 gpu is basically a crippled gf8600). The xb360 has 3x3.2ghz cpus, each of which can deal with 2 threads, giving a total of 6 threads in comparison to ps3s 8. Xb360 also has more elegant architecture a more powerful gpu. End results for both systems are about the same. Neither are close to high spec pc gear though.

Fact of the matter is, it will still be many years until a PS2 Emulator is perfected. NES Emulators have few (if any) problems, N64 Emulators are still somewhat problematic....
What I'm trying to say is, don't complain about the emulator being buggy or not working. The PS2 is still a very recent console, and it will be some time before a Emulator is perfected.
And if I see anyone demanding a 360 or PS3 emulator, I will find you and kill you. :)

I TRIED PES 2011 ON IT AND IT STUCKS A LITTLE WHAT TO DO?

@Narmo23 Quote: "I understand that they're emulating the PS2's instruction set "
*sigh* Well, obviously u don't since u bring forth brilliant arguments such as the principle of "static coding" which is non - existent in every language except pascal. The issues you consider are real, indeed, but you fail to realize the simple fact that writing a successful emulator is 20% software and 80% compatibility, therefore, your argument doesn't make any sense in that aspect. Go learn Java / C ++, ffs...
-
@Narmo23 Judging from the argument you and TheCromaru have been having, I'd say your oversimplifying pretty much every argument u bring forth. You also fail to realize that in a mono - environment (only one OS running) there will be no issues regarding "running flawlessly" as you so magically put it...
The word "emulate" means that you artificially reconstruct a certain environment within another, therefore, you will not be able to utilize full CPU capacity regarding both systems.
-
@Narmo23 Emulation isn't that simple. You don't just magically convert it into something the PC can handle. Normally, a PC with at least 10x the raw power of a console is required to emulate it. In the case of something like PS2, with it's very different architecture, that's even harder. Not to mention that almost everything has to be rendered with software.
I'd say PS2 emulation is progressing quite well.

@Narmo23 actually, u dont just need a pc that is more powerful than the ps2, u need a high-end pc to play it right even in these times... pc doesnt just virtualise missing components, it also virtualises EVERY component of the ps2, and that requires a LOT of raw CPU power, as far as i have seen, core 2 duo at 3.2GHz is enough for all games to run at full speed, or core i7 with multithreading at 2.00GHz to run mostly at full speed, and at 2.4 or higher to run at constant full speed... learn dude
-
@Narmo23 I ripped it from my own copy so there's no reason why it's not a good image.
-
@ScottOnasi sry but snes and n64, either ps1 have problems :) and all of it worked fine on my pentium 1 and my voodoo2 !!
-
lols why are people so serious about this stuff? btw you don't have to brag yourself that much narmo...hehe chillax dude.
next time guys read the 'read me' or 'instructions manual' included to your folder. the usual problem to your programs you download but don't work is not actually the program itself but the user. you find the exe file, if it didn't work then it's already a failure. wth guys seriously, try fixin' before complanin'...
more pew pew less QQ.

This is a really old video. I can't remember the plugins i used and there is most likely a newer build of Ps2xe (or whatever it's called)
