  • David, I truly enjoy you as an artist and person. I am the one who brought my daughter,Cady, to see you play with Randy Saxon and Jim Avett in Lexington NC. You made that such a special night for her. She still talks about that night every time I play "The Prettiest Thing" on my old Martin, as she sings along. Keep it coming. Love the way you pour out your heart and soul.

  • Did you hear the Bob White? Been many years since I heard that. Don't have them out west. Last heard them in KY.

  • @HELLBOUNDPOET

It's called 'Good Man For The Night'. During a radio interview David said he wrote it after reading a series of stories by a famous Irish Author [I forget who]. It seems to be largely overlooked these days as David concentrates on new material, but he's got a LOT of great songs sort of 'in storage' like that.

  • whats the name of that tune at 6 minutes? its a good one

  • David was my soccer coach when I was 6 or so. Just a really good guy.

  • This was an awesome video. Thank you for sharing.

  • What a great video of a true genius! I have had the great experience to write with him lately. We have a few things in the works right now. Such a "Down to Earth" guy! Thanks for posting it. You should finish your documentary of David. He is a very intriguing gentleman!

  • Thanks for posting this. I have been a fan of David since I first saw him in a little coffee house in Mount Holly. A great talent who never got the recognition he deserved.

  • I was in the UNC-Greensboro MFA writing program with David Childers in the 1970s. I admired him then for being a serious and unique poet and a remarkable character. He's still a character, and now I admire him for being true to his muse all these years.
