Tested the second version of my highbanker. Made it shorter, lighter, and tossed the riffle section (going to fix up a new one that's bolt on, but for now, with dust, I don't need them). Ran the sluice out the back to sample taillings and found 1 little flake all day. Whole unit weighs about 25lbs. Wish it was aluminum but I don't have any way to fab. that yet. All in all I've spent about $150, maybe $200 for both. Pump is borrowed and WAY too big. Since getting back from this trip I bought a little 2.5hp Honda so it should all be easily transported by one person now. Had better music before but they muted it cause it was copyrighted.

  • where is this video ?

  • Over by Sweet Home in Oregon.

  • looks like it workes great. how much? (us dolars)

  • All of the money is in the motor and pump. Now that I know what I need and there's no scrapping stuff from trial and error, I'd say the highbanker body itself would run well under $100. Problem is with wooden stuff, especially pine (hardwoods are too heavy), they tend to fall apart after time. My newest one is all metal and HDPE, so it'll probably last just about forever, but it cost about $400 altogether.

  • Can you make a vid on how you built that high baker?

  • It's fairly basic. If you really look you can pretty much see how everything is put together. I don't plan on making another one now, so.... if I ever do I'll record some of it, kind of a step by step, but as I have three now that work quite well, I hope not to have to make anymore.

  • Just found your videos and I am enjoying them very much. Thanks for sharing.

  • @tangibleinspiration if you screen your stuff a little before you dump it in the wash box you would save some of your small golds on the sluice

  • Cool vid I made my high banker out of pine I had to varnish it so the pine would not worp. Keep up the chase.
