Go Tom!

You changes your tune , you said -two of the very best golfers ever'. lol! Yes Watson won 8 majors of which 5 were at the Open Championship.Being a great links player helped him have such a huge tally. Explains why he was not that special on the tour. Besides, there were not that many great links players back then.

re-read my comment, teewoods. i said watson was "one of the very best golfers ever". watson won eight majors ... mickelson has three - and has not won the u.s. open and probably won't at this point of his golf career. watson is regarded by GOLF EXPERTS other than yourself as one of the top ten golfers of all-time. i suggest you get YOUR facts right. until then ... hit 'em straight!!

and how is watson thebest golfer ever? Never won the uspga and has less pga titles than someone like Mickelson. Get your facts right!!

"the duel in the sun". two of the very best golfers ever, with great respect and admiration for the other, becoming friends later in their lives. great post, nldhstn!!

so this is the legendary super hi-level match between jack and tom. i saw first time. their swings are so beautiful. thank you.
This is a great series of videos, a wonderful tribute to what turned out to be a truly remarkable head-to-head competition. Thanks to Tom and Jack for the memories. "Two of the very best golfers ever," indeed. And, yes, "Go Tom!"

teewoods, it's nice to see you are a golf fan, but you don't have an objective view of things. and i'm still singing the same tune. i said watson AND nicklaus are "two of the very best golfers ever" so yes, watson would be "one of the very best golfers ever" since he is one of watson and nicklaus. watson was, indeed, "special" on the pga tour, winning 39 tournaments along with his eight majors - was pga player of the year 6 times and won the vardon trophy 3 times. ask nicklaus what he thinks.
