In the second part of this film we see the Massed Bands of the Royal Marines finishing off their display with a rousing fanfare and marching off to the traditional sound of 'A life on the ocean wave' and 'Heart of Oak'.The parade took place in 1999.

  • I too wanted to kill the announcer for talking too much.

  • If only that tw*t Brown would shell out a bit more money - brave young men like these could get the job done out East with a darn sight less loss of allied life! Come on Browny, stop being such a cu*t and spend the money in the right places!

  • The fellows sitting under the canopy seemed rather underwhelmed.

  • @54mayford I believe Sir William Walton composed it.

  • @88silhouette The fanfare just before God save the Queen is the one used at the Coronation bef ore the Processional National Anthem. I'm not sure who composed the fanfare....

  • @TheBagger57 HM Royal Marines

  • This is the Fanfare for the First Sealord.

  • Hi all. Love this video!

Here's a question. What is the name of the fanfare just prior to God Save the Queen, or is it officially the start of God Save the Queen? I'm trying to find a band version (ie no choir) with the fanfare and the song itself.

    Cheers

  • @ukanian how very true!
