So I've decided to start investing more in silver. This is my collection so far, but I'll explain in more detail the items you see.

Several years ago I happened upon a Silver Eagle (but I didn't know what it was called) so I went online and looked around to see what it was. My first few search options were related to "silver dollar."

From that point on I started looking more at my change, and up until this week I had found three quarters from 1964 and two Mercury dimes ( 1934 and 1940).

Today, I went ahead and bought three 1-troy-ounce bars (one that I gave to my dad), four more Silver Eagles (one, again, that I gave to my dad), and a 10 troy ounce bar. Believe it or not, I think this is a really good idea.

I'm an absolute beginner with this stuff, so what I've told you is all I pretty much know about this whole "investment in silver" endeavour that I've started. If you have any silver coins or bullion and know a thing or two (or are an expert), feel free to leave a comment. How's this for a start though?

Music was written by me, so don't worry about copyrighted stuff.

  • I wouldn't trust anything that says "Wall Street" on it...

  • @k98killer Very true... I about hesitated to get it, but seeing that it came from a renowned bullion investment shop, I'd say that its purity is guaranteed.

  • Outstanding investment in just 1 month, Bravo.

I have just started investing too, after 5 weeks I have 36.7 troy Oz's and I am now taking a hard look at my spending to see where I can trim down in order to invest more.

My goal is 500 T-OZ's in 2 years

  • @rllang01 Thank you. I'm already up to 102 troy ounces, and by the end of this year I'm expecting to have about 150 troy. I did have 132, but I spent 30 and got myself a new guitar, stand, strings, bag and strap. Now, I'm looking at spending just $250 a month, if I can even afford that much to get myself to 150 by the end of this year. I'll have to wait it out and see what happens.

Good luck in your journey, and keep stacking!

  • I set my goal to buy 1 troy oz coin per week started in march of 2008 silver price then 11 dollars/oz today 22/oz double

  • oh, well never the less, thats bad ass. I'd so get a wall vault. xD Maybe I will :D

  • Well, some are antique metals, like the coins (not the silver eagles). But I'm not sure of the age of the bars. They could be brand-new or from the 90s. :-/ I wouldn't know how to tell, lol.

  • I found them in my change, but I bought three more for around $2.50 each at an antiques store. Pawn shops may also have them.

    I'm 25.

  • lol, thats good. Is this new mint, or antique metals?

  • how much did you pay for the dimes? and how old are you? jw
