A happy YouTube first anniversary song for Adam Gussow, a great blues harp player, generous teacher, and inspiration to harmonica nuts around the world.

I took a few of the licks from Whammer Jammer and worked up some lyrics to thank Adam for everything he has given us on YouTube.

Equipment:

Hohner Special 20 harmonica in A, Astatic JT-30 mic with crystal element, Kalamazoo Model 2 amp, with Johnson delay pedal.

  • The worldwide web is a wonderful thing! Thanks for an inspired response to my year's worth of mad ravings.

  • Could the first blues harp players ever imagined how this generation would be connecting with and learning from each other? Doubtful, and one of the results in my opinion is a lot more people have taken up this small, mighty instrument and learned it faster than ever.

We have actually met in person though. I was the inquisitive harp geek in the front row when you read from your latest book and played at the Harvard Coop in Cambridge last year.

Thanks again for all of your contributions!

  • Cool stuff Brett :P Great lyrics ahah! Playing is good man !

  • Who was that masked ... sunglassed ... marvel? Why it's our Brett, the Pentatonic Poet! Great playing! I felt the fun! Watch, some cultural anthropologist with too much time on his hands will write his dissertation and include Brett's video post as a subrespontorial post-cultual ephemera hastening the annihilation of mass culture.

  • Yeah Paisan. Nice touch. Maybe I need to write lyrical congrats to Adam too. Bene and well done.
