Guatemala is just like the Philippines. It has an entrenched oligarchy that has created protectionist policies. It has a system that does not work.

Guatemalan intellectuals, therefore realized that it was necessary to make changes that would benefit the people. They decided to lobby to fix the country's Constitution. Thus, ProReforma was borne. It was founded by the late Free Market Advocate Manuel Ayau.

In like manner, many Filipinos - from among OFW's and other ordinary frustrated individuals who felt that the status quo was unacceptable - came up with a movement that would - like the Guatemalan situation - seek to correct the flaws of the Philippine Constitution of 1987. Thus, the CoRRECT™ Movement was borne.

This is all purely coincidental. CoRRECT™ was separately created, and only recently did ProReforma's existence become known to the CoRRECT™ founders.
