North Korea's reclusive leader has made his first significant public appearance in months.

State media showed Kim Jong Il arriving at the North Korean parliament.

His appearance comes as international pressure mounts on the United Nations to act against the North for its recent rocket launch.

Al Jazeera's Azhar Sukri reports.

  • anyone else hate these bastards for causing strains to currently almost peacefull world that we love as it is???

  • When USA launches Test Rockets in Alaska and Greenland the whole world is silent and some countries even applaud it. But when North Korea launches their self-made rocket as test half of the world stands up against them even though they didnt violate the international rules of nuclear power building. Same with Iran. And yes, I feel sorry for Japan they were once very powerful and brave but since they lost WW2 they are nothing more than the puppet of USA.

  • @ReplayKCF They absolutely are breaking international laws for building safe nuclear power.Have you ever heard of the Non-Nuclear Proliferation Treaty. Starting a new nuclear weapons program is illegal for North Korea. North Korea signed onto the treaty until it started violating its provisions.
