Easy Home Made Brooder Setup http://www.FredsFineFowl.com This video demonstrates how simple it is to set up a brooder for your day old chicks. All glass construction, pine shavings, 40 watt yellow/amber bulb, starter crumbles and fresh water. Vwalla, you have a chick brooder. I like to put artifically incubated chicks in my kitchen (as shown) while they develop. This way, they are perfectly comfortable with people coming and going and have a clear view of the world. I know most people start chicks in a cardboard box, or one of the brooder kits with cardboard rolls. When people walk up to view those chicks, they often scatter and are frequently startled. Consider giving your chicks a good view of their environment and let them see you coming. My entire family enjoys seeing peeps on the kitchen table and you always know what's going on in the brooder. I hope you enjoy the video. I can't count all the chicks I've hatched over the years, but I can tell you this... it never gets old.
