I was able to bring back the legendary Allegra Kent to the stage for a tour by my chamber sized, "Ballet of Los Angeles." I choreographed this, "little something," (Balanchine's favorite phrase) expressly for her and Mark Lopes. She was in her mid-fifties at this point and very nervous to be seen again in New York. However, all her magic, charm, mystery, and even more surprising, technique was still there for all to see. She got rave reviews in all the papers...deservedly so. Make sure and see her surprising exit at the end of the bows.
Thank you for posting this. It shows all the unusual lyricism and musical dynamics associated with Allegra's expressive genius. There seems to be so little of her legacy on view these days. A beautiful piece of choreography.
