Huliganov's "Carnival is over"

This romantic song by the Seekers is actually originally a Russian folksong of quite brutal content. Huliganov brings the two themes back together again, both culturally and linguistically.

I enjoy your posts immensely. Your Russian pronunciation is impeccable. I take my hat off to you. Nevertheless, here you've pronounced one word incorrectly - and as a result, misinterpreted the sentence where it appears. What you've pronounced as "волнами людьми" (which makes no sense) is in reality "вольными людьми." The related sentence means, "Lest there be a quarrel between the free people." It has nothing to do with any "people of the waves."

No, Sir, it's just sheer coincidence. I think that drowning women is ungentlemanly. It's also ecologically unfriendly, as a Russian folk parody of the Stenka Razin song clearly states:
