We're looking at two single replacement reactions:
3CuCl2 + 2Al = 2AlCl3 + 3Cu and
CuCl2 + Mg = MgCl2 + Cu
The flame test on the reddish product shows the presence of copper with its blue/green flame. dupuis.shawbiz.ca

  • Good and clear video, thank you for sharing!

  • Water is being boiled.

The reaction is highly exothermic and releases energy in the form of heat...hot enough to boil water....

  • is the liquid left behind the AlCl?

  • what's the gas that evolves?

  • so what happens if aluminum is limited? will there still be left over CuCl2 as a water solution?

  • hello Omnibus people

  • HI SCIENCE CLASS! (if your watching this video in class as I did.)
