I finally had a chance to shoot my scoped 91/30 and it totally exceeded my expectations. For a new, inexperienced rifle shooter and an old, inexpensive rifle, I am very happy with the results. A powerful centerfire rifle that has been battle proven and is fun to shoot, for under $100? That would be the M91/30, comrade.

update: I have moved the handguard back to the correct position

  • @fakebrake thank you

  • @mrfatguywithagun no, I bought the mount from a guy on eBay. So far I've had zero issues with it, and it does not loosen at all from the forces of recoil.

  • nice man, I'm in a similar situation myself... these guns are awesome!

  • @wischneider50 Thanks bro. Enjoy it and don't listen to the scope snobs and commandos. If it works, it works!

  • cool scope i have the exact one, i use it for my ruger 10/22 .. i also have the mosin nagant also. the only thing is that this scope u have here is really far from your eye so it's hard to get the proper eye relief. but eitherway it's a nice rifle. and it was known for 1,000 yard hits in world war two.. it's a battle rifle..

and as far as the cosmolene for a rifle like this is always good to get that crap off prior to shooting it for the first time.

  • @RANGECOACH1 Thank you. I used a scout scope to keep it simple and inexpensive. I've taken it out to 430 yards so far. Also, I don't have the turned down bolt handle which I believe is necessary in order to clear a regular scope.

  • The wood looks great! Some day i must try one of those rifles.

  • the wood barrel cover is way to forward btw

  • going to buy a scope for my 1942 91/30 tomarrow, and noticed your scope is mounted in the rear site mount, did that mount come with your scope? and how did it hold up with the recoil?

  • UAG Mosin Nagant 2-7x32 Long Eye Relief Scope + New Generation Weaver Rail Mount + Scope Rings+ Lens Covers+Lens Cleaning Kit and the 1" Ring-3/8" Dovetail-High by NCstar are the ones that I got off of amazon.com. Work great!
