Robotic Palletizing/Depalletizing - http://www.fanucrobotics.com/ppp/
This demonstration highlights FANUC Robotics' integrated iRVision and the new Learning or "Gakushu" Robot
In this automated palletizing and depalletizing demo, the FANUC R-1000iA/80F robots, use iRVision bar code reading to sort two different types of boxes from a conveyor.
The robot in the background picks individual boxes of two different colors and places them onto a conveyor. As the boxes move down the conveyor, the robot in the foreground reads the box's bar code using a camera equipped with iRVision, and tightly stacks the boxes in a checkered pattern.
The boxes are then depalletized back to the conveyor and the cycle repeats. Bar code reading is ideal for customers who need to identify and separate box styles during the palletizing cycle.
The second portion of this demonstration highlights FANUC's "Gakushu" robot with Learning Vibration Control -- or LVC. LVC improves robot performance by actually learning the characteristics of a specific application path.
The FANUC "Gakushu" Robot in the foreground, which is an R-1000iA/80F robot equipped with LVC, races against an R-1000iA/80F robot without LVC. With a 'Gakushu' robot, software records the path characteristics using an accelerometer mounted to the end of arm tooling. The path is run several times, allowing the "Gakushu" robot to optimize the path data to significantly improve cycle time.
In this example, the "Gakushu" robot shows a 12 percent improvement in cycle time compared to the robot without LVC.
The cycle time improvement from 'Gakushu' robots can significantly increase the productivity of palletizing systems without the added time and expense associated with typical expert programming strategies.
