Twitter Gives Itself Added Flexibility to Censor Messages

Twitter Inc., the microblogging service, gave itself extra flexibility to censor information in parts of the world that impose restrictions on self-expression.

Effective yesterday, Twitter added the ability to censor tweets on a country-by-country basis, rather than globally, the San Francisco-based company said in a blog post.

As Twitter expands, it gains a deeper toehold in countries that have what it called "different ideas about the contours of freedom of expression." Twitter said the changes would let it withhold a posting, or tweet, in a country where a particular kind of content is banned. It cited France and Germany, which ban prazi propaganda.

"Twitter needs global expansion," said Jeremiah Owyang, an analyst at Altimeter Group in San Mateo, California.

Los Angeles police released the audio from a 911 call made from the home of actress Demi Moore. A friend who made the call said Moore had smoked something and was convulsing.

Ashton Kutcher está preocupado por su ex pareja, Demi Moore, quien estuvo internada por un cuadro de estrés, por lo que viajó de Brasil a esta ciudad para estar al pendiente de ella.

Su llegada a Los Ángeles coincide con la salida de Demi del hospital Sherman Oaks, en el que estaba desde el lunes pasado, después de haber sido atendida por "abuso" de óxido nitroso.

Una fuente comentó a la revista People que "Ashton está profundamente preocupado por Demi, la sigue queriendo mucho y siempre le desea lo mejor".

Sin embargo, la cadena TMZ publicó que el actor no quiso hablar del tema ni responder a las llamadas que le hizo Rumer, la hija de Moore, para informarle de la preocupante situación que está viviendo su madre, según apuntó HollywoodLife.

"Send an ambulance right now. This is an emergency."

So begins the dramatic 911 call, in which Demi Moore's friends are desperately trying to get an ambulance to the actress' Beverly Hills home as quickly as possible, which was released this morning by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

On the heavily redacted recording, which lasts about 10 minutes, one of Moore's friends begins arguing with the dispatcher amid confusion over which agency covers the neighborhood and should be sending paramedics.

"Why is there not an ambulance coming now?" the woman says testily before explaining what caused the star to "act crazy."

Han de saber, y algunos creerán que estoy loco, pero Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, por nombrar algunos, son producto de la CIA para controlar la información mientras la dejan fluir... es un plan viejo que aplicaban ya durante la guerra fría. Un ejemplo son algunas discográficas y grupos de rock que surgieron auspiciados por la CIA para controlar la tendencia musical que consideraban problemática mientras la dejaban existir bajo observación...
