At the scene of a devastating fire that broke out in the Royal Jomtien Hotel in Pattaya, Thailand, in 1997, Mr. Kaimart was assisting along with community service agencies. The damage and loss of life at this tragic event inspired him to develop a device to help people fight fires in the early stages, or at the very least, assist their escape from structures engulfed in flames, as well as inhibiting the spread of conflagrations.
Although Mr. Kaimart sought no professional certifications in this field, with his over 10 years experience in safety systems, and the lasting impression of the tragedy at the Royal Jomtien Hotel induced him to find a practical solution to prevent loss of life and the dangerous spread of fires once ignited. He studied the inherent problems relentlessly, researched the basic chemistry of fire fighting agents and reviewed conventional approaches to denying potential fires the three components they need to achieve combustion; fuel, oxygen and heat. What he designed after his research was a new paradigm in fire fighting and fire rescue.
The Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball
Is a ball-shaped fire extinguishing device. Simply tossed into the vicinity of a fire, it will activate within 3-10 seconds and effectively disperse the fire extinguishing chemicals held inside it. When a fire occurs and no one is present, the Elide Fire Extinguishing Ball will self-activate as it comes into contact with the blaze and emits a loud noise as a fire alarm. Because of this feature, it can be placed within any fire-prone area, such as above an electrical circuit breaker panel or switch or mounted in kitchens. There are no special skills or training required in its use and no need to face the dangers of a fire. No inspection or maintenance is required over a product useful lifespan of 5 (five) years.
