I agree that other presentations have been more playful but magic was more mysterious and dramatic in those times (circa 1900-1930) and the narration on my video is from a TV special whose focus was on the history of magic and their classic effects using me as a comparison and example of a modern day presentation.
Let me be clear : I LOVE your presentation. There is a thrill that goes through me when I watch yours that is lacking in many (most) standard presentations of "Zombie" . Joe Karson's original presentation and even the association of the name "Zombie" is sort of "dark", but my point is that most of the best known and well-loved routines such as Neil Foster's seem to have focused on making the personality of the ball into a mischievous sprite more so than a morbid creature of the night.
I was lucky enough to see her perform this live at the Magic Castle. Certainly one worth driving out for.
