i love disco, but this is the sound that eventually killed disco due to the cheap and cheesy sound. its just way too electronic, and lacks the soul that earlier disco songs had.
French sound did not kill disco, french sound was a new wave in disco. At the time, US market was oversaturated with disco and that's what killed it, not this. It stayed very much in Europe, which now can be witnessed by the presence of house music, unlike in the US, where it's still considred cheap, chessy and gay.

Cerrone was so talented he could play the bongos and the drums at the same time, as evidenced by this video! :) His disco sound started a couple of years before this, as the drummer for Kongas. I'm not too crazy about his later stuff, but this track is a true classic. Him and Alec Costandinos basically worked together to make this sound.
