I have heard all of Jalan's music both live and recorded. His timing is perfect. The timing in this piece is not a "mistake". It's called the use of dynamics. It is much like a classical masterpiece in that it is exerting feelings and emotions. Fast slow, loud quiet, up down. It's like a journey. There is a level of musical genius Jalan is playing at that "on the beat every beat" players are far too novice to understand. You have to experience the music. Don't just listen to it.

Jalan is not always contemporary, which is what makes him good. It is the ability to have fun and improvise that determines your musical aptitude - not how well you can exactly copy someone else's licks.

I defy anyone to go to a concert by Jalan C and tell me that he is lame or a shi**y player! This man ROCKS!

y'all are flippin' rediculous... you don't even know what you're listening to here... this man is brilliant... i've been listening to him since i was like 3 ft tall... and every song from portrait of a fish to pegleg to bosler to trailer park fire have been nothing less than the par of excellence... but true this is a crappy video... it happens sometimes no offense... but it definitely does not do the man justice...

did you give yourself that name, "guitar beast"? one night...while playing air guitar naked ...in the mirror to a def leppard cassette?

If you are playing live and using a metronome for anything but setting an initial tempo then you are a massive tool that needs to get out of music.
-
Has it ever occurred to you that musicians can and will change up their time signature? and low and behold, they're fully capable of doing mid-song as well!! amateurs...your metronome is only keeping one constant beat throughout the song, and not changing tempo or time.
-
Whoa there, stootsy. You are WAY out of line!!
I checked my electric metronome and perogibreath is right. The time is horrific, at best.I admit, I do like the music, but let's be more realistic, and less passive/aggressive , my emotional friend.
Ah, Jalan. Good times brother!
I have to make a copy of this video and turn it 90 degrees...my neck hurts.
Would that be OK with you kaylatreick?
