Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing to Bathwater by No Doubt. This is my first fan video. Sorry for the crappy sound. Enjoy!

----4/1/08-------

I just wanted to briefly respond to people saying that this video is a "desecration", and a "disaster"or that because I chose a song that is not of the time period, doesn't work. I assure you, I was not "out of my mind". I am a very big fan of Astaire and Rogers. I've seen every one of the movies they did together and many that they did alone. I would also like to point out that I KNEW the sound quality was bad when I posted the video. It was a problem with my recording program and, short of using a different computer which I didn't have, there was honestly nothing I could do. I WILL agree that the song does not live up to Astaire/Rogers. However, this was one of the few songs I found whose beat matched the rhythms of most of Astaire and Rogers' songs together. And, rhythm aside, I agree that I can't think of any recent songs that would do justice to this team. I firmly believe that Sondheim writes the best songs these days, but no one can dance do them. I do, however, disagree that this means I disrespect Astaire or Rogers by any means! I hold both of them in the highest regards and I don't want you to think otherwise.

  • Nice clip of Classic Dancing, back in the days of musical films; however . . .

Why did you RUIN this film by putting in such a LOUSY audio track. The audio track should be in the TRASH CAN, not on YouTube.

  • @foamulator I´m agree. I prefer the original music!

  • You call yourself a fan?

  • Awful music and an insult to the dancing......particularly to the unique Mr.Astaire.

  • que musica mas horrible !!!!

  • Maybe you can try with a video of Mae West and music of AC/DC

  • the music should be Sway!

  • Wonderful video :-) I love the clips, I love the music and the way you matched them! It's artistic. Don't mind the bitter comments. 77 people don't know how to appreciate someone's good work.

  • you lost me with Gwen Stefani, I loath her obnoxious voice. (no offense)

  • I watched an awful lot of AMC back in the 80s when I was little. My mom taped the majority of the Fred and Ginger films from there; I loved them! I'm curious though: why should the music in a fan video have to match the time period of the video clips? Not liking the song itself is one thing--I probably wouldn't if it stood alone--but I think it works well in context. The clips are well cut to take advantage of the rhythm and progression of the song. They create a sense of timelessness together.
