The schooling system in the UK is not doing much good for African children and particularly our young boys. This is the last part of a short documentary which looks at how three London schools are looking to address this problem as best as they can. Ultimately, the solutions to this SYMPTOM (black underachievement in school) lie in Africans ourselves understanding the underlying CAUSES and dealing with those in a consistent and dilligent manner.

The arrogance of these teachers and pupils astonishes me. Only a person who is fooled by this white system that we live in would believe in this story that tells us that "if we study hard we will succeed"; a story that is only true if you are white and privileged. Intergration within the white man's system will never bring change to this miserable condition in which we are in today. We need to determine our own destiny, not as individuals (as this documentary promotes) but as a people.

@AfricansArise It is hard work raising kids, the kids in our school don't sleep all night. They are either on the street or playing video games. They have absoultely no respect for other human beings or property. I celebrate the fact that I will not for much longer have to endure such depravity. If you want your people to arise tell them to take care of their kids, tell them to dedicate their lives to that noble end. Society is an abstract concept as the idea of a government.

@AfricansArise I have taught thousands of Kids, after a while you realize that it would be cruel to challenge them on their behaviour. You have to accept them for what they are, no more or less than anybody else but in many ways very different.

This isn't so much a black issue but a universal truth that you have to take responsibility for yourself. Nobody owes you anything. I am a school teacher and am not a big fan of 'civilisation ' let alone the school system. The cause of percieved black failure is that they are not naturally inclined to obey, to be respectful or to cooperate. that isn't necessarily a bad thing, however this crazy world makes demands of us, and that is why blacks will continue to 'fail'.

@rivershoe "The cause of percieved black failure is that they are not naturally inclined to obey, to be respectful or to cooperate"
Which is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard in a while. And you're a school teacher with these kind of ideas?
AfricansArise 10 months ago
@rivershoe Blacks live in complete fantasy where others owe them something .Nothing can hold you down if you take responsibility for yourself. Rely on yourself, believe in your self, nigger its is all that any of us have or have ever had.

Even though this seems to work, we need to question why these children need to be segregated from the rest of the students. I wasn't and neither were a number of my successful friends. London and inner city urban ghettos are poison. Black parents need to take responsibility for their off spring because the system won't and shouldn't.

Yeah, we can't leave it to schools to raise our children. For me, I think these things - though successful - are really just band aids trying to sort out fractured bones. It is about the lack of a strong community ethos among our people which begins at from a breakdown of strong family values.
