I'm a Star Wars fan that really doesn't mind the edits made in the special editions of the three original films. In some case, it made the movies a bit better. I enjoyed the extended Wampa scenes, the new music at the end of VI, and the sarlacc with a beak wasn't a bad addition either. But there were two additions that I hated. The first was the CGI Jabba added into Episode IV, and second and worst, replacing Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skaywalker at the end of Episode VI.

Christensen as Anakin makes no sense to me, as he died old, so he should became a Force Ghost as an old man, like Obi-Wan and Yoda. I understand it was done to help young fans catch the connections between the originals and prequels, but I still think it was a stupid idea. Anyways, I've redited the scene with Shaw still as Anakin, as well as maintaining the quality, music, and edits made for the special edition, which I do enjoy.

Enjoy!

  • BUT U KNOW IF THEY HAD QUI GON THAT WOULD BE EVEN BETTER

  • @MrAfghanforever I really think having anyone other than Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Yoda would be completely pointless...

  • Thumbs up if you want Sebasian Shaw's version of Anakin to appear in the future 3D release of 'Return of the Jedi'!

  • I personally would have liked Liam Neeson to have been added to this scene and others across the saga.

It feels wrong somehow that he doesn't have much presence in the following films. It would have been interesting if there were moments when Darth Vader could almost sense someone watching over him during his moments of inner conflict...

  • @bolec133 Probably because most kids today are familiar with Hayden as Anakin and not some random old guy.

  • I agree with with you. I can't understand why George Lucas use Christensen in return of the jedi. All fans whos see old trilogy firs,t should be dissappointed.

  • @whitestarline82 They should change it so that Sebastian Shaw appears as, but as unmasked Darth Vader. That would make more sense.

  • The emperor disliked this video and made a new account and disliked it again,

  • I wish George would release this scene some day :(, this music is much better than the old one, i agree with most of you, it doesn't make any sense having Hayden jedi ghost at the end of Episode VI, nothing can replace Sebastian Shaw!!

  • We clearly saw that Vader was redeemed and became Anakin once more, moments before his death. Therefore, Shaw should be Anakin in this scene and not Christensen. I don't know if they should consider it out of continuity, but as a young Jedi, Anakin wore a dark brown tunic, not the tan one he wears here (though we see him wear that at the end of I). Have you seen the 3D version of I, because I noticed it has some footage included from the DVD's deleted scenes.

  • Ones I do remember include the look of Jabba in IV, Vader and Palpatine's dialogue in V, and, of course, Christensen replacing Shaw in the end of VI (and the end music to this movie which I like a lot more). I also like the change in V because it sets up proper continuity to VI and the prequel trilogy. But I do not like the change of Christensen being Anakin's ghost in the last movie, because Anakin did not literally die at that age.

  • Hey TheUnluckyTug02, I am a huge Star Wars fan, and I also don't mind many of the changes made to the original trilogy over the years. However, I saw the original theatrical versions many years ago, so I don't entirely remember what they were like, but more with guesses of the special edition VHS tapes and then DVDs. I owned those tapes before the DVDs, but even now I don't remember many changes made from those.

  • @MrAfghanforever As much as I love qui-gon, it wouldn't have been right because Qui-Gon and Yoda disagreed on almost everything
