Just a few weeks before the shut down, here is a clip of a PCC leaving Mattapan for Ashmont.

  • @Iznibz The green, rebuilt PCC's on Philly's Route 15 have air conditioning and cloth covered, padded seats. Not bad.

  • They were still running on the E line in the early 80's, when I was a student at Northeastern... they were noisy, uncomfortable, and had no A/C. But I can only remember one time when one of these broke down. They were built to last, that's for sure.

  • I used to ride them every day as a kid. glad to see them still running!

  • These are the same type of trolley the T ran on the 'C' line back-in-the-day, right? Built in 1939, I believe? I remember one day while waiting for the trolley at Northeastern, we saw a van try to take a left turn in front of one of these trolleys. Needless to say, the thing bounced off the train like it was made of rubber. The trolley hardly noticed. They are like tanks, those things!!! We used to open windows in the summer for air. No A/C.

  • It just reopened - and it sounds like a clusterfuck today.....

  • nice... I want to get out there and ride one of those before I die

  • NICE!

  • WICKED!
