Heads sank deeper into the sand at the beleaguered ministry of education where officials are contesting embarrassing revelations of blatant theft of donor funds meant for free primary education programme. After a prolonged absence, permanent secretary Professor Karega Mutahi burst onto the scene on Monday vowing not to resign adding with some finality that no official at the ministry of education will take responsibility for the scam. In his highly defensive response, the education permanent secretary suggested there was nothing wrong in some of the money meant for public schools ending up in the accounts of private schools. He also saw nothing wrong in education officials favouring their home district schools in the disbursement of free education funds. As NTVs Robert Nagila reports, the permanent secretary struggled to stay in touch with the gravity of a scam that has rocked a government programme considered by many Kenyans as noble.
Still looking forward for that day that we will deliver Kenya from This rats. Before then, we gotta watch this foolish idiots fool with us.What a Crap.

@MrMujama: Never give up, a time will come when we shall stand up against this odds. The power lies in the people, but to harness that require time to gain enough momentum, then we shall do like Thai....

This is where greed is taking over Kenya. Mutahi can't convince 4 yr old with such silly excuses. How r we going to compete with the world if we deny kids a chance to education and continue to fatten the pockets of the already illfully rich.

It is not responsibility of anybody to appropriately allocate money, but mby mistake u entered 2 lots of money to one school in one account????Karega knows that the funds went to peoples pockets and he is one of the "mbeneficiaries"...so the deal is simple US, UK AND THE REST WILL SIEZE FUNDS, KIBAKI WILL NOT ACT "KAMA KAWAIDA " AND THAT MARKS THE DEATH OF THE ONLY PROJECT THAT WAS REMAINING IN KIBAKI ERA AND MARKS THE FALL OF KENYA YETU. This Karega needs some unorthodox punishment like being made to walk by his dick before being hanged by his shrinking balls. This will set an example to those who extra-live on impunity in Kenya.

I laughed when I heard that cos if one thing is certain, Kibaki has no balls to sack anyone. He is as useless as a dead donkey. Do you think he cares about the money disappearing? never. his grand children go the best private schools in Kenya, probably the ones Karega is defending here.

only in Kenya can thieves be caught stealing and still be compensated. Just like Ongeri the other day, Karega comes here and plays a blame game and blinds Kenyans with a craftly prepared statement and gimmicks and still gets away with it. God save Kenya.

Why can't EU follow through and demand a publication of all disbursements to schools? Then locals storm schools to see what was bought? They will never steal again!
