wow thanks for the extremely clear directions on how to replace the hard drive, my dad had to upgrade his hard drive so I showed this video to him. he did exactly what you said and the hard drive installment was successful. thanks! when my friends have the same problem, I'll definitely recommend your channel to them.

Do you need to reinstall Leopard with the new harddrive installed?
This new disn from Mac is great considering they have made it more accessible and less complicated for users to change the hardrive on their new Macbook Pro's

Yes, the drive will be empty. You will need to boot from your Install disc and format the drive. You can either install a new system or clone your backup back to it.
