Track #?? (Unreleased)
Artist: Cain's Offering
Album: Gather The Faithful (2009)
13th Disciple is an unreleased demo track by Cain's Offering, a finnish power metal supergroup. The song was recorded before/during "Gather The Faithful" sessions, but didn't make it to the final release. Nonetheless; it has potential, and sounds great for a mere rough mix.
For now, this is the only song from Cain's Offering, that features Jani Liimatainen performing all the vocals.
I want to thank Cain's Offering and especially the drummer Hurtsi, for allowing this song to see the late daylight; you all have my gratitude! :)
Feel free to send suggestions to correct the lyrics. Enjoy!
Lyrics:
Deep inside my heart, there's a little voice that guides me,
The vengeance burns inside me, and it's longing to be free
I need to show now how I feel, but I can't make it much too real,
My hatred didn't use to, but to turn it inside out, and left to ground,
I'm ??? birth, now I'm crusified on a someone else's cross
[Chorus]
You were the only messiah for me, and I was your thirteenth disciple,
I loved you and praised you, but you let me down,
I'm angry 'cause straight this Judas will wear your crown
Time to count the scars, and the little that you taught me,
No longer you can call me, now the time has come to get things what I preach...
I need you now, less than ever before, forevermore I grow so strong,
I tell you, you can call me Judas if you will, I will be alright, just let me catch my breath
[Chorus]
You were the only messiah for me, and I was your thirteenth disciple,
I loved you and praised you, but you let me down,
I'm angry 'cause straight this Judas will wear your crown
I'd give my life for one more melody, I'm heeding your truths for onward to see,
And give the end, preach, inherit the earth, you'll have your vanity, losing your sanity,
Take me, fight me, crown me the kings, and defy me
Thirteenth disciple became in the heart, the modern day deities now live in the dark,
And when I'm around, you don't talk so loud, and when I'm around, you don't walk so proud anymore
Now you see the tables turn, you're the undead king, and I'm phoenix rising
[Chorus]
You were the only messiah for me, and I was your thirteenth disciple,
I loved you and praised you, but you let me down,
I'm angry 'cause straight this Judas will wear your crown
Someone asked Kotipelto about Cain's Offering a couple of months ago, there was a thread on the EDGUY forums where Kotipelto basically said the project hasn't been abandoned but nothing has came out of it yet. Basically, if we want a new album, we need to show Jani there's a demand!

@NeonMugen I agree, but... If only people would BUY the album, and not just download it... Power metal is not a moneymaker of a genre either, unlike some modern dubstep-crap. Plus, CO can't manage with profit from gigs only. Not enough of a fanbase, for that stuff.
It's not like we (a small minority, compared to mainstream-BS-folk) can make a big change for better, but certainly every small bit helps. The band is relatively unknown in Finland, even though they're a "supergroup"... Go figure...

@NotARegularGuy I bought the album straight away after listening to a couple of tracks on YouTube, I prefer to support my artists by buying their music. It allows me to have a collection to look back on and actually say "I own those albums" and it supports the artists as well.
I had to import the album from Germany on Amazon though, as the site itself was selling no copies. I even have the sticker saying "The New Power Metal Attraction from Finland!" on my laptop. :)

@NeonMugen That's impressive dedication! My two all-time favorite albums are "Ecliptica" and "Silence"... They're kinda impossible to replace; they're "my music", the reason I started playing guitar/keyboard, as a teen.
I had a chance (more like a privilege) to buy the exact guitar Jani used on those two albums. My playing's been influenced alot by earlier Sonata, but there's no way in hell I will EVER dare to upload a soundcheck w/ that guitar... It would be the worst kind of blasphemy! :D

@NeonMugen But hey, I've always thought power metal fans are very likely the MOST dedicated group. What the fans lack in quantity, they make up in quality... They seem to be a nice and caring bunch, minus some random (<1%) immature fankids. Same goes with the artists; they treat fans as human beings. :)

@Erestoriel Yep, updating. I think I'll add "for" in there though, as I've been hearing it like this for quite a while. I thought I couldn't understand spoken english, but this assures me that I still can. Thanks!
