Ignore the comments of those who just don't get it. Play it the way you feel it! You wouldn't expect Jimi Hendrix to play a Dylan Song the way Dylan wrote it, and you don't have to play classical music the way everyone else has always played it either. I am a 58 year old professional violinist. I got here via your excellent Gershwin Prelude #2. I play the Heifetz arrangement for violin and piano. If I find myself in Vancouver I'm going to look you up so we can play it together.
This has always been one of my personal favorite pieces - and this is by far the best interpretation of it I have ever heard! Just like I've always imagined it, and like I've wanted to play it myself.
I couldn't agree less with the people complaining about the rubato. Tempo giusto is not for this piece, whatever the sheet says (btw my sheet doesn't say that :-)).
lol i could feel more your facial expression that your passion while playing,,what i mean is..there are some part where you put too much on if which are not needed and not puting inpart where is mostly needed.on the beggining of the chorus, you are not to slow it and put dybamics unto it because it is played on normal dynamics and speed..which you changed it therefore wee have to change ourregards for you as well..otherwise, if i were to rate it 3/6..youre good though..keep more practice
I really like the way you play this. Everyone else I've heard is really pompous and arrogant in the piu mosso sections. I like it when it's quiet and reserved. Piano players generally piss me off. you didn't. I liked it. Don't get me started on various interpretations of satie.

I think you play is much to edgy... if you know what I mean... this walz has to flow. It has to be more gentle and sweet... I think^^

It should say tempo giusto shouldn't it! Exact tempo, no rubato I think!
But this however was beautifully played.

interesting interpretation, but I don't think this piece is for rubato. Doesn't it say on your score "tempo giusto?"
