My teacher says To Kill A Mockingbird is all about Harper Lee expressing her ideas of prejudice, based on her own experience. Is this true?

@Normalaatsra Harper Lee's own father was a lawyer in southern America who defended African Americans on trial. Lee had a friend named Truman Capote, who the character Dill is based on. There was even a boarded up house down the block from her where a kid got in trouble, and was kept inside for over 20 years. It's safe to say that she was drawing from her own experience.
