Moses Malone was named NBA Finals MVP; he notably made a prediction about the Sixers' chances prior to the start of the playoffs, saying "Fo', fo', fo'"-- predicting that the Sixers would sweep all three series. They came close; they only lost one game, to Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference finals. The Sixers set a record for highest winning percentage in the playoffs that would not be broken until the Lakers went 15-1 in 2001.

  • You have to be one of the greatest players of all times to make it into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame..they were All-Pro, and they certainly earned that honor..but HOFers, I don't know..

  • Did Larry say anything about playing Marques Johnson. The both of them usually gave each other high praise.

  • @Flipper79able If you have read Larry Birds book he says the exact opposite and admits that the Bucks were a team to be feared. He also talks about how many people thought they gave up on Fitch, and says that is not the case as well. If you read the book he talks very highly of Fitch for pushing him in practice, and remember this is Larry Bird saying this not some big Milwaukee fan.

  • I have never heard any of the Celtics from that team say that Flipper.

  • I have never heard any of the Celtics from that team say that.

  • Mo Cheeks - Toney - Dr. J - Bobby Jones - Moses. WHAT A TEAM!!

  • @kingdomoftheworm Yea, that's because the entire Celtics team hated coach Bill Fitch and were losing on purpose to get him fired. The entire Celtics team admitted it years later. The Bucks didn't beat them with talent.

  • @Flipper79able Are you serious? They swept the Celtics in the previous round.

  • @86pimp3 DJ and Dumars are in because they were among the best all-around players of their day. They could do everything, were great clutch players and brought a lot of intangibles to their teams. DJ's defense on Magic, most notably in the '84 Finals, and Dumars' on Jordan during the Pistons-Bulls rivalry were what made their teams great. The only problem was they both got overshadowed by some of their teammates' accomplishments.

  • @bobbymarsh1 No doubt players like Mo Cheeks and Bobby Jones, and Artis Gilmore, should be in the Hall Of Fame, but I think Petro deserves to be in, too. He, along with Vlade Divac, were the first two European players to really make it in the NBA, but was inducted more for his international accomplishments as part of the Yugoslavian national team..

  • Moses Malone was the "missing piece to the puzzle" for the 76ers
