November 21-25, 2010: Over a year of planning went into this trip from the day the wife and I bought our 2001 Durango back in October, 2009. This is our third road trip (the first time was back in May-June, 2006 and the second was in September, 2008) and I decided to take some video along the way this time..
Took roughly 3 1/2 days (not including layovers in Houston, TX, Laredo, TX, and Queretaro, Mexico) and 2200 miles to reach our final destination of Iguala, Mexico..
Part 1 includes preping and packing the Durango to when we reach Laredo, TX. about 1386 miles distance requiring over $400 Dollars in gas to this point!

  • thanks man, i mean we have a jeep wrangler and a 98 durango and i was planning on lifting the jeep but then heard about the 98 durango not when you lift the durango and there a suspention lift or just a body lift? I am planning on doing a 2.5 or 3 inch lift so i could put 33 inch tires on just asking what do you think.

  • @redraidersman96 I'd go with both a suspension and body lift..

If I get another Durango, that's what I'm gonna do.

  • @rvr2 thanks man! also have you ever had engine problems i mean 250,000 miles is a lot have you had any problems. dont get me wrong the durango you have is really nice

  • @redraidersman96 Thanks! I didn't have any problems with it till recently..

Blew the radiator 5 months back and now it's not firing on all 8 cylinders.. Changed all 8 spark plugs and ignition coils today as a matter of fact and that didn't fix the problem..

I'll need to get a diagnostic done on it soon.

  • that a stock exhuast ?

  • @redraidersman96 ope.. Magnaflow Cat converter and a 40 series Flowmaster exhaust.

  • i lived in mexico its acctually not good

  • @DanGuerrer0 Of course it isn't...It's a war! The Government is doing what's necessary to win. And they have been doing it fine. No matter what the news media says.

  • @Aj24671 My mom's side of the family lives in Mexico and it's not the same as it was 10 years ago.

  • @DanGuerrer0 If you believe what the news media says, and don't look at the situation with common sense then of course you would think that.
