hercules review part 1 of 2

Here is my Disney Hercules review part 1 of two. The first part talks about the plot, the look and the characters. Part two will talk about the music, the flaws and mistakes the movie made. Hey, it's my fave Disney Movie, but that doesn;t mean I'm blind to it's faults.

(Part 4) ... that Herc cannot hear him, that he will not be able to save her before dying of old age. Therefore, the deal was fraudulent, because both Meg and Herc would not be able to survive. That's why I think Hercules is not dishonest (at least, not entirely) when he punches Hades and takes her out. Personal opinion though. ^^''

@blackmiranda Thanks for all your comments about the video, it's nice to see someone actually comment on it for a change. I worked really hard on it, and after reading your comments and rewatching it, I can see exactly what needs improving.

As for the whole deal thing at the end, I think Hercules would have known about the whole dying before getting to her thing. The movie should have handled this a bit better; if they did it in a similar way as to how Bell trades her life for her father's...

@blackmiranda ...part 2: ...in Beauty and the Beast, it would have been clearer. Yes the movie did show that Hercules was willing to die to save Meg, but they should have made it clear in the deal that he was trading his life for hers. They made it more of a if you can get her out she goes, you stay, instead of making it clear that Hercules was basically saying kill me and bring Meg back to life. It would have made for a stronger ending. I hope that makes sense? lol

@Amymethven I see your point. I guess they could have explained it better. :) Anyway, I can see you put a lot of effort in this video. I simply had to comment it. ^^

(Part 3)... It's honest, serious but it has its funny moments. "My movie, bitch!" XD

Just a personal opinion though... About the deal that Hades and Hercules make at the end of the movie. Many people I know have the same problem with the fact that Herc doesn't keep his promise and punches Hades instead. Well, I think that's not so simple. Let me explain. Maybe I am overanalyzing this, but...

The deal is: "She goes away, you stay", right? But after Herc jumps, Hades says, perfectly knowing...

(Part 2) ... He's the real "innocent" of the situation, and I think this can be a charming feature in a character. And he changes in the end, wich makes him a good character. Not the best in the movie, but not the worst either, in my opinion.

To be honest, the only character I did not like was Zeus. That's probably because I liked Hades so much.

The style of the animation is awesome, and the colours too. So bright and intense.

You did a very good job in this review...

Great review. =D I absolutely love this movie, even though I can see why it has problems. When I was young I knew every single line of the film. I still do.

I agree with you for the most part: Megara is just great, she's interesting and believable as a character. Hades is one of my favourite villains. He's so charismatic and funny, but he can also be menacing at times.

Hercules... I liked him more as a teen. Not that I don't like him as an adult... (Part 1)
