@KrunchyJD check out industrial hemp: 5,000 uses including food, shelter and clothing!Henry Ford created the first car out of hemp and used it for the fuel...but the evil oil companies then as now wanted their blood money!!
-
@KrunchyJD Dear, that's so sweet, but just forestalling the problem...the govts are OWNED by the oily-garchy!
-
He shouldn't have predicted a date...2010 is gone and we haven't had hoardes pushing down the White House door (Pentagon door and Fed door would be more appropriate!)...Other than that, Ruppert is right on...Why not discuss the use of Industrial Hemp which has 25,000 uses including food and clothing and housing????

@LuqmanNaq I agree there is cause for pessimism, indeed many people are reluctant to change, however why give up. We need to persuade govts to put in place policies to reduce reliance on oil. Getting rid of car dependancy, is a big step. I think we should look to countries like the Netherlands and Denmark who's govts actively encourage cycling as transport, and make car ownership more expensive. They also build cities more around people and less around cars.
-
@LuqmanNaq I am aware of how food production uses petroleum. I am just saying that private transport uses a good slice of the oil, and it is one area where we can reduce consumption and buy more time to come up with alternatives.

@KrunchyJD The peak oul movement has been trying to make people aware for the past 40 years, a major cultural change isn't imminent... most beleive we are in a recession rather than the beginning stage of a collapse! 2011 will probably begin the next phase of the economic collapse, so it really won't matter. Most won't be able to afford rising commodity prices, and the collapse of the economy due to the decline of the affordability of the oil infrastructure will enter it's next phase.
-
@TheAntiFascist2010 I agree... when it comes to conspiracy theories there is alot of truth, but alot of holes aswell... the answer that immediately came to mind is that with the global economic collapse and the oil infrastructure declining... there won't be as many people on the planet as their is now... if you look at the population level before our vibrant oil infrastructure came into place it seems like it is approx 1.5 bil!
-
i realized something today after following all the conspiracy theories for some time now and I do believe that there is truth to alot of it but here is the kicker. How does a one world monopoly government police and control 5 billion people without gasoline?? Even if they took control of what is left their rule wouldn't last very long because we would all obviously revolt against them knowing that their resources were running out. And the Bell curve is real so I guess just get a water purifier.
-
@TheAntiFascist2010 Prolonging the decline of oil, means that there is more available for where it is needed then where it is wasted. It buys more time to move to other sources of power, and other materials. I thought this would be obvious.
