What a song! - one of my fondest memory of my childhood and my Dad. He loved this song and the Don Kosaken Choir.

@valma73 Did you know that that when German was defeated the USA and the other allies betrayed the Don Cossacks and handed 15.000 Don Cossack soldiers, women and children to the butchers of Stalin? Try looking up the betrayal of the Don Cossacks and operation keelhaul.

The title of this movie is "Ja ja , die Liebe in Tirol "
your father Alexander Royko had a brilliant tenor voice , and was soloist under Serge Jaroff

@vermsiggi My grandfather had a dramatic tenor. Before escaping the Soviet Union-coming to the US and joining Serge Zharoff choir he used to be a leading singer at the Kharkiv Opera (Ukraine).
I do not have a scanned headshot of him, but in this clip he can be seen every time the soloist is shown.
