Double parking to write summonses- Jimmy Justice

I have always maintained that meter maids should patrol on foot because their vehicles often obstruct traffic and cause more problems than they are supposed to solve.

An exception in New York State Vehicle & Traffic law allows traffic officers to double park only while engaged in doing their job.

In this video I show two examples of traffic cops who double parked and caused public safety hazards while they write summonses to civilian vehicles.
The disturbing part of this video is that in both cases there was plenty of legal curbside parking available.The lazy officers chose to double park in order to write their summonses as quickly as possible and move on to the next one.
This is what happens when the system is based on numbers and not on justice.

police & other emergency vehicles have certain exemptions from complying with traffic statutes. This means they can mostly do as they like with respect to parking & there is NOTHING u can do about it, UNLESS the non compliance has a negligent consequence.

So when you say "you broke the law" , umm no. They didnt. Yuo are WRONG.

Start campaigning to get the statutes changed. What you are doing is fruitless & will only result in your arrest and restraining orders slapped on you.

This is ridiculous, a police officer should be allowed to temporarily double park while they are busy writing a citations. I also would like to know what gives this man the right to go around filming others. It's breaking their rights to film them and place the video online without their permission. It's also illegal to DRIVE WHILE VIDEO TAPING.

it is for sure the police department will do nothing about it. it is because these are small violations for them. probably most of the officers are doing the same thing, but the sad thing is that the officers dont't even know what the law is so they can defend themselves.i dont know if this guy is doing the right thing but i am sure these officers that have been filmed next time will be more careful and obey or follow the law. it is best for everybody.knowledge and respect is the key.peace.
