I 'Borrowed' this video from the Mack Trucks website. Pretty good video, thought my brothers on the road would appreciate it as well.

  • Macks are great trucks and I guess still American made?

  • @arkansastrash320 Theyre built in the US, but not sure who owns the company. Theres a plant in Macungie Penn. The side of our engine blocks are stamped 'Renault' - which is from France.

  • hhaha, slow and steady does when the race but in the end you ned back surgery because suspension is soo rough.

  • I agree, I know all about that rough ride lol

  • yeah they last but cant go up hills for shit they are so slow

  • Slow and steady wins the race.

  • When i look back on Mack Trucks, i feel pride, WHY? Because Mack Trucks made the small BIG It made the weak, STRONG. The east coast of america was built with a lot of help from Mack Trucks. There are some who make fun of Mack Trucks, i say learn to like then, for if you live in the eastern side of the USA, then Mack Trucks helped your dad, your grand dad, and great grand dad to be BIG and STRONG. Prove me wrong, it's fact, Mack Trucks help make the USA the greatest nation on earth. PERIOD!..

  • LONG LIVE THE BULLDOG!!!

  • @arkansastrash320 They're still American made, and EVERY COMPONENT IS MADE IN AMERICA AS WELL unlike Peterbilt (Canadian parts), Kenworth (Canadian parts), Freightliner (now made in Mexico)

  • @dalekrueger its the diesel engine that does it

  • Amazing to find all that info in the video. Mack certainly has a well deserved great reputation.

  • @jeepman65 Volvo owns them now

  • @dalekrueger A relatively long stroke is definitely a factor in producing higher torque at lower RPM, but the real key is producing near-constant cylinder pressure for the entire duration of the stroke.

  • @JGMagoo are the a long stroke engine,like a 2 cylinder john deere?

  • @dalekrueger Basically the high torque rise, or 'Maxidyne' concept is all about getting the turbo to spool up and produce lots of boost at a low engine RPM, and then not over-boosting at high RPM...and building an engine tough enough to withstand this high output at low RPM. All truck engine manufacturers are following this concept today, but Mack was the first. This high torque at low RPM is the KEY to good fuel mileage and also makes for less shifting.

  • Wait wait wait wait...pause.......... His name was Jack Mack??

  • I'd rather put a 50 year old Mack to work for my business than many new trucks made today.
