@GikePeterson Why would you need depth of field for an action sequence? Depth of field does not equal a film look. Framing/editing/colors/music make a film look.

@poncho8615 exactly, take reservoir dogs for example, not one scene has depth of field in that movie and it still look professional.

@GikePeterson the photographer's distance was pretty far, and even when it was close up, it was just zoomed in. Depth of Field is highly dependent on distance, focal length, and aperture size, so what you see is the photographer's utilization of those three things. Different people have different taste.
