sounds like the top needs a rebuild... or @ the very least maybe a valve adjustment?
those exhaust valves get nasty at around 50 k or so- i just did a total top end rebuild on mine and it is like new. I've the same year and color as you :-) best year for the r100rt's-no air injection and decent gears. great overall bike!
