Even after they showed the wings flexing like 10ft above the fuselage?! and the engineers knowing exactly when and where they would fail! Remember the most dangerous part of your flight is the drive home :)

That explanation is incorrect, because the main landing gear of the 767 actually hangs with a forward tilt.
It is just the particular design of the aircraft.

Think of it logically. What would happen if the plane caught to much with the front wheel?
Gear might snap off. so if the force is gradually distributed in the opposite direction of the plane...no broken gear.

Why are the back wheels always angled upwards? I bet it's a stupid question, but I'm no expert ;)

:D he's right....

truly sexy. People dont realize how many things are going on when dumping and raising the gear. Only thing sexier is seeing them hit the pavement at Vref

i never knew that they went straight then went up. One question would the doors have to be vacuum tight?
is the gear well always illuminated by that red light, or is it a "service mode" thing?

Anytime the inboard gear doors or the gear is in transit that light illuminates. Its mainly to warn anyone in the area that the gear or the gear doors are about to move. The nose gear has the same type of light.

The gear doors do have a seal but are not a vacuum or pressurized area.
