That is just speculation. I don't think that is true at all. That is like saying that if all of a sudden all of the uninsured folks could afford insurance it would destroy the system. That is all this is.. insurance for folks who don't have the ability to get it now for various reasons.

The reason it is going to be mandatory no matter what bill they pass is because to many folks have been sponging off the government. Eberyone knows you can not be refused care in the ER regardless of ability to pay. We the taxpayer pick up your tab and that adds up to a pretty penny. The fact is you should want a bill that includes the public option that way your kids will have a place to get insurance that is based on income instead of private insurance if they need to.
