It's quite amazing how many surprised people stop and watch a main line steam train (especially Cromwell with that beautiful haunting whistle).Marketing/PR people would give an 'arm and a leg' to get this captive audience...good video look forward to your next

Saw this train steaming through Marks Tey a few minutes after taking on water at Colchester. I got bad still shots at Manningtree, but made a mercy dash to marks Tey to get one great shot!!

I am sorry that they do have ticket barriers at Colchester, but I think they usually allow people on the platform. You might need to telephone first. There are no barriers at Marks Tey, which is just down the track on the mainline towards London.
