Part II http://youtube.com/watch?v=bbigIVJjGHE Piano Concerto No. 3 in C, Op. 26 1. Andante - Allegro Sergei Prokofiev, piano London Symphony Orchestra Piero Coppola
Impressionanate !!!!!!
And while I'm grateful to the people who upload treasures like this, it would be good if you would do the whole job and include *all* the information about who is performing, e.g., not just the soloist in a concerto.
There are a number of uploads on youtube of orchestral works, with absolutely no information about who the conductor and/or orchestra is. Some of these performances are wonderful and we'd like to know who is responsible for them.
@Ir77iridium Google is your friend. I'll do the work for you this time: "Prokofiev himself made the first recording of the Piano Concerto No. 3 in June 1932 with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Piero Coppola."
Wow! His version is so much slower than all the performances I've heard before =) It definitely brings out some interesting writing in the orchestra because the piano is not so overpowering as many of the modern interpretations. Still, I think Proko would have wanted to listen to Argerich to realize just what an amazing piece of music he actually wrote =)

This concerto used to annoy me, but I'm starting to enjoy it a lot! It's a wonderful piece of music! Prokofiev was great.

Who is the orchestra? What year was it recorded? The fidelity is really amazing!!! Also, not so fast as some modern performances.

This is how it's done. Finally, this concerto sounds much better. I was wondering why I never liked this concerto
