@romanbrough they wouldn't be doing lowlevel flying if they weren't in a LFA (Low Flying Area) - I know for a fact that Cumbria has LFA17 over it so he shouldnt have been there that low without Air Traffic permission. Doesn't matter if his "airstrip" was in there - he still needs ATC Clearance.

Seen lower practising for gulf 1, i f I had a screwdriver I could have opened his inspection hatches as he flew over.

We were in Cumbria 2 years ago, a guy had his own little airfield and a 2 seater Cessna or similar. We watched him take off, and buzz about the valley. Then a pair of these came out of nowhere. he very rapidly got out of their way. but if he had reacted a second later, there would have been lots of spare parts scattered over the hills. I did wonder, who, if anyone was responsible for the near miss?
