    On July 18th, 1960 the Ventures version of "Walk - Don't Run" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #2 {for 1 week} and spent 18 weeks on the Top 100...

    R.I.P. Mr. Smith and also Bob Bogle {Venture's lead guitarist, 1934 - 2009} and Mel Taylor {Venture's drummer, 1933 - 1996}...

    You might want to check out Dick Dale (Misirlou), The Surfaris (Wipeout), and maybe Duane Eddy. This song was originally a jazz number by Johnny Smith, by the way. Definitely a different animal.
