After 4 hours of airing up the tyres with a 12v air compressor, it was time to see if this old minibus still drives. I believe it's sat here for at least 3 years, if not longer.

Also featuring random hennage!!!

READ THIS PLEASE.

There's plans for this vehicle. I wanted to see if it would drive out of the spot it's been sat in for several years.

Due to the farmer and TYPG director chatting too close to the camera and later helping to dig out the wheels, I had to edit allot of the video out, Sadly I couldn't edit all the footage or i'd have no video to show you all. I did my best to limit the appearance and voices of those in the video.

My thanks go to the Farmer for digging the wheels out.

  • is that on a LDV convoy chassis?

  • Back when this bus was new,it was Freight Rover.

LDV was formed in 1993 as Leyland DAF Vans Limited following a management buy-out of DAF NV's Leyland DAF van manufacturing division, following the bankruptcy of the Dutch company. Later the name was officially changed to LDV Limited.

Prior to its merger with Leyland Trucks and DAF Trucks in 1987 it was part of the British Leyland / Rover Group empire and was latterly the Freight Rover arm of the Land Rover Group division.

  • What's the plans for the bus then Mr.S?

  • @crunkbeatz We're getting the engine for another vehicle but the rest is to be sold for spares. It's too far gone to be put back on the road.

  • Nice one!!! Good little project there - good that the engine and mechanics/breaks etc seem ok on it too!

  • @LaurelFrear Hiya, the brake pedal went to the floor but it just about held the bus. Handbrake still works though.

  • Chamber of Secrets, van edition

  • @MrStelmer - that's a shame but nice to know at least a bit of it will live on somehow.

  • The Hens make the video! - Great to see the old beast is still running strong. The hens seem to have multiplied since I last came to the farm back in January this year!
