He also makes a pedal that was discontinued now. You can find him talking about it on youtube somewhere. Runs for about $300 I think. He also plays with metal picks. Steve Albini also eat uranium. That's really the secret behind his sound.

This is over a decade later, of course music had progressed. And I don't remember Big Black being hounded and arrested, gigs cancelled, being dropped by labels due to political pressure, having cops confiscate their LP from shops and being banned from airplay by the BBC. That was the Pistols in '76. Nothing ridiculous about that.
