DC 4225 powers the southbound Albertlander excursion train through Kumeu at 1919hrs on Saturday 21st November 2009 on its way from Whangarei and Kaipara Flats, to Auckland.
We use it where it makes sense. Sometimes it makes sense to use it, sometimes not. If it was truly more efficient than say trucks, we'd use it more. The government has to prop rail up by 90 million each year as it as, which is absolutely criminal and needs to stop. That is 90 million which could be spent on health care, or education etc. The Aussies must be laughing their heads off at Labour buying NZR back. Someone should be hung for that buyback!
