Two Different Worlds Collide [Ch 14]

For the past week joe and I have been studying our butts off. I have even gained from this experience. As much as I fought and argued with joe I believed he was finally getting the hang of it. I began to get close to the jonas family. There were everything I wanted. Beautiful mother, amazing father, close siblings. They came straight out of the american dream. Kevin began to teach me how to play guitar. I confessed I always wanted to know how. He was the artistic one. He played sports too but music was his thing. Little Frankie became my favorite. He was the man. Nick made sure to keep an eye on me and joe. Not like he had anything to worry about. Right?

It was now the day of the test and Joe was a nervous wreck.
-I dont even know why I wore my jersey today. Im not even going to play. Im going to fail miserably.- he kept on rambling.
-gee thanks for having faith in your tutor.- I said getting my calculator out.
-Im such an idiot! I forgot my calculator!- he said digging through his backpack.
-relax. I have Michaels. Here you can borrow it.-
-oh thank you. I dont know what Id do without you.- he said. After that there was an awkward silence. -um good luck- he said to me.
-uh yeah.-

[45 mins. Later..lol]
I was packing up my stuff getting ready for the test. I looked over at Joe who looked nervous. I guess football really does mean a lot to him.
-so how did you think you did?- I asked.
-terrible- he said as he put his face in his hands.
-oh come on. Youve worked hard. Im sure you did fine.-
-Mr. Jonas..- Mr. Kyle said as he walked over to Joe with what looked like his test.
-lay it on me.- Joe said expecting the worse.
-I hope to see some good work on the field from you tonight.-
Joe looked up at Mr. Kyle. Im sure he would hug and kiss him if he could.
-really? I passed?- he asked not believing it.
-with a B. whatever you did keep it up. Good work.-
-thanks- Joe said.

After Mr. Kyle walked away I got up and headed for my locker. -hey Cassandra!- I heard Joe yell from behind me. -wait up!- I stood there in the middle of the hallway and noticed people looking at me. I became uncomfortable. Joe ran up to me and gave me a hug. Oh man. I thought. -thank you- he whispered.
-for what?- I asked.
-for helping me. Now I can play at the biggest game of the season. You gonna be there right?- he asked.
-uh yeah.-
-ok great! See you there.- he took off with his friends and left the happiest Ive seen him all week. I looked around and saw people looking at me funny. I grabbed my bag and went to my next class.

I was at the game sitting with selena and nick who were fully decked out in the school colors. Selena was wearing a jersey with Joes number while nick wore blue and gold with pride. He even painted his face. I giggled when I first saw them but what ever floats their boat. The game was amazing. My brother had a few touchdowns and Joe made amazing passes [hes quarterback] they made a great team. I told nick that it didnt even seem like they had tension between each other. He explained to me that its different when theyre on the field. I shrugged my shoulders and watched the game. We won. I was excited. My brother did a great job and I was proud of him. After the alma mater nick and selena invited me to go eat.
-I have to wait for Michael.- I said.
-ok well call us if you change your mind.- nick said as he pulled selena towards his car.
-ok-
-by cassie!- selena yelled as she tried keeping up with nick. They are too cute. I walked over to the ticket booth by the field where my brother told me to wait for him. I was playing with my scarf when someone walked up behind me.
-you hungry?- they asked.
I turned around to see Joe. He was in a plain tshirt and jeans. He looked amazing. -um. I dunno-
-what do you mean you dont know?- he asked.
-maybe a little.-
-wanna grab a bite to eat? My treat. You know for helping me be able to play today.-
-um Im kinda waiting for Michael.- I added.
-well Im gonna put my stuff away. You ask him and Ill come back for your answer k.- he said with a smile. Ugh that smile and those eyes!
I just nodded my head yes.
