The Bhopal disaster or Bhopal gas tragedy was an industrial disaster that took place at a Union Carbide pesticide plant in the Indian city of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. On 3 December 1984, the plant released 42 tonnes of toxic methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas, exposing more than 500,000 people to toxic gases. The first official immediate death toll was 2,259. A more generally accepted figure is that 8,000- 10,000 died within 72 hours, and it is estimated that 25,000 have since died from gas-related diseases

  • A very tragic event indeed. I was in college when this occurred. And to think, this was supposedly done by one disgruntled employee at the plant.

  • @Sarathchandran007 I can see you have sympathy for these people, but India is uncontrollable, and its population keeps booming like rabbits and when it does there would be lots of corruption and crime. Now they're migrating everywhere because of their overpopulated country and once the world becomes overpopulated everyones chance of survival is pretty bad. Its not only India, but every country is helping it.

  • For some reason I can't do a straight reply to notafraudoffuture's idiotic comment about the world starving if we didn't have pesticides and rat poison. The world actually did QUITE WELL without those thing before they were invented. How do you explain the human existence centuries upon centuries if you actually think that way?? Yikes. You're far too old to be that naive.

  • God Bless the doctors who tried to help the children...good Lord I want to die just listening to the parents grieving with their dead babies and children in their arms. This is so unfair. People are still suffering! And most people in North America have no idea this ever happened. Union Carbide SHAME SHAME SHAME! Get off your wallets and HELP THESE PEOPLE.

  • Again weshall stand and ask deaf government to hear to the screems of these fellow Indians who ask for their attention....and this time the entire India would back them up

  • @TheCodeEgg

Apply the same standards and rational to the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico !

  • Com'n you could sing together:

    Sare Jaham se ACHAA.

That is not my country; and we could buy anyone in India, damn cheap.

Do you know how many are suffering from the Bhopal gas tragedy and how many made millions out of it?

but I feel for the victims and my heart goes out to the broken hearts.

  • These fucking american killed thousands of people... it is 25yrs up 2 now....hope for the right judjement....

  • Karma will get them in the end. And it will not be pleasant. They will get what's due.

  • @TheCodeEgg Stop covering your tracks and denying your country's racism and terrorism. It was a USA/Israel job so get the fuck over it you terrorist.
