Dash Cam Cop Attacks EMT

June 12, 2009: OKLAHOMA CITY -- OHP released the dash cam footage of the trooper involved in a scuffle with a paramedic.

There was a stalled car on the side of the road in the way so the Ambulance could not pull over to let the Police Officer pass him on the way to a call, so the Police Officer turns around and pulls over the Ambulance on the way to the Emergency Room to give the Ambulance driver a ticket and picks a fight with an EMT in the process.


The Officer in question is on administrative leave.

the family should have kicked that cops ass. they should have beat him down and knock some sense into him. i know for a fact it is so hard to hear anything outside. those ambulances are sound proofed and with that and the radios talking it is almost impossible

That officer should lose his badge. The EMT shouldn't have flipped him off but the paramedic had every right to intervene because he is in charge of the ambulance, its calls, logs, and timely transports. The paramedic only wanted to transport his patient while the trooper on a power trip was looking for an apology from an emt-b that was probably just cleaning his fingernails. Besides, that officer was running lights and sirens, so why would he stop to harass the medics over a middle finger? ASS!

The paramedic should have let the cop handle his business with the driver and move on down the road. The cop should have let it go and not been such a hardass over this....both wrong.

They were both wrong. The cop was a power tripping idiot, however, the EMT was wrong. The EMT was performing a non-ALS transport, non-emergency, and thus must obey all traffic laws like any other vehicle - including pulling over for a police car. He should have pulled the ambulance over and he should NOT have flipped off the cop.

@SuperStankful it's funny that the paramedic was arrested on speeding, no insurance, no seatbelt, defying a lawful order, and resisting arrest in another county in a different jurisdiction in Oklahoma. Hmm seems like a pattern with this guy.

By the way, this State Trooper was trying to talk to the driver of the ambulance when this occurred, not the jackass in the back. The paramedic got himself involved in something that did not have anything to do with his care of the patient in the back.
